If you’ve been following my story, you know that it’s my dream to one day build a home that’s off the grid and powered only by windmill energy and solar energy. Even though I’m not a hugely technical person, I think I can do it. (click here to see why)
I’m not looking to outsource a lot of labor, just to get help with the things that are too heavy for me to lift and things where I need equipment that I just don’t have. I want to do the majority of it myself. (yes, I know I’m a girl, but I LOVE science and technology and I’m up to the task)
I’ve been looking at some videos online that show how to make your own windmill power, but most of them are pretty vague and require knowledge of certain techniques before you can build. So, the learning by free video method is definitely out.
I was looking around last night, though and I think I’ve found my answer! I downloaded an ebook about powering your home by wind or solar energy and it’s a complete step by step guide on how to do it. (the method isn’t expensive either - it takes around $200 to make your own solar or wind power system)
What’s really cool is that it has a ton of diagrams which I need because I am a visual learner. Click here to check it out.
I’m really excited about this ebook because it shows step by step methods of building my own wind or solar energy. You can either choose to follow the steps to build your own wind turbine or your own solar panel or you can do both. By the end of this, I might even be selling energy back to the electric company.
Another thing to think about is what kind of renewable energy is best to build for your home type and location. I never even thought about using my home’s location as a resource. I’m glad I bought this book before I built. Now, I can look at all the ways solar and wind power can be improved by my home placement and geography. I’m super excited to get started on this! Click here to see the book that is teaching me to build my own renewable energy.

Most people are fully aware of the huge opportunities that can be gained by building a wind energy turbine at home. Quite simply you could completely eliminate your household electric bill by building and installing a wind turbine and harnessing the natural power of wind energy. However, did you know that if you can generate more electrical power than what you actually use, you can legitimately sell this back to your electric company â you get paid for the electrical energy you create!

Wind Turbine Offers Another Clean AlternativeThe first usage of wind power dates back more than three thousand years. Windmills, which we all know from literature, were used primarily in the west between 1300 and the late 1800’s. None of this means anything to the modern homeowner, considering a wind turbine as a possible alternative energy source, however. Windmill energy power is becoming more and more popular.

Meaning of wind energy: Its sources; Nature of the main wind energy conversion systems.
Several factors related to the environment can combine to transform solar energy into wind. The surface of the planet earth is, by nature, not uniform. These uneven earth terrains can only be unequally warmed up by the sun. As a natural consequence, some places on the planet remain cooler than certain other areas. The air in the warm regions weighs less due to lower density levels.

Take a close look at the evening newspaper and all you’ll see on the front page is global warming, energy crisis and bad economic times approaching. It’s no wonder that more and more people are investigating the potential prospect of making their own windmill for power.
Americans are in need of an alternate means of power and the windmill represents an excellent solution towards this goal. Not only is this form of power generation a cleaner method then the usual fossil fuels, but best of all it will save the owner money.
